Dive Formulas provides all of the formulas used by the recreational diving community in one handy place.
It allows you to enter the necessary details and calculates the appropriate result based on your input. It also shows you how it calculated the result, making it especially useful as a teaching aid for instructors and students alike.

Almost Useless
I bought this to use during my divemaster course to help check my math on physics problems. While it does have some of the commonly used formulas built in the method of entering numbers is absolutely inaccurate. Rather than typing your numbers in you have to use a slider that is about an inch long and gives you no ability to set an exact number. Also it is not always clear what type of units you are to enter. Im very disappointed with my purchase, and for $5 I expected something with at least a little polish, or at least some way to accurately enter info (its called a keyboard).

I have checked this programs calculations against my own and found it accurate. However, some of the values are in metric and english and others are only in metric. For example, gas volume required can only be calculated using metric values. This is quite maddening for those of us in the US. The program would be great if it was more friendly to both sides of the pond.

Good idea but could use an update
So this is a simple app to use but unfortunately the use of sliders makes it impossible to select exact values. For instance if you want to check at what depth the partial pressure for oxygen in air hits 1.4 ATA, good luck selecting exactly 1.4 on the slider. Even on the iPad the resolution of the slider seems to jump by two (odd numbers only) making this impossible. Still, it is quick and easy to use, just seems like a very minor update could greatly improve the app. It would be much nicer to have an option allowing you to enter specific values instead of being forced to use the slider.

The output results are what you would expect and the program is solid. The sliders are difficult to stop on exact numbers and maintain when I lift my finger off of the screen. Maybe a - and + box at each end of the slider to decrement/increment by one or changing it to a multi-digit selector or text input would help. The displayed formula are great to have but not always complete. MOD is missing the (x-1)*33 part, although its hinted at. Criticisms aside, and they are minor, this is a good app and idea and worth the price.
